You can watch a short interview with David Tennant, Julie Gardner, and Russell T. Davies over here.
There’s a new trailer for season 2 of Being Human here. And there’s a 10 second teaser with Mitchell here.
Reportedly, Patrick Stewart is due to be knighted.
You can watch a 2 minute clip of David Tennant as Hamlet here. He is good.
Just spreading the word for elynross, for anyone not watching yuletide_admin. There is a problem with pinch hits going out right now, due to Yahoo shutting down elynross’ account sending out too many e-mails. If you want to claim a pinch hit, you’ll have to use the e-mail address mentioned in the post I’m linking to.
Also related to Yuletide—anyone signed up to Archive Of Our Own can fill a Yuletide fanfic request, even if they haven’t signed up for Yuletide. My Yuletide letter with detailed prompts can be found here, if anyone feels like writing something for me. Or if you want to write for someone else, the Dear Yuletide Letters entry is here.
ETA: And moments before I posted, I found out that there is now a back-up list for the pinch hitting. Read this post for details. |

| RIP, Brittany Murphy |
[Dec. 20th, 2009|02:58 pm] |
Brittany Murphy has passed away today at the age of 32, after reportedly going into full cardiac arrest. May she rest in peace. She was probably most famous for her role in Clueless, which I’ve never seen. From what I can tell through IMDB (word of advice: avoid the message boards, because they are nasty about her) I probably only saw a few minutes of her when I saw the end of Don’t Say A Word on FX.
After a second look at IMDB, I see that she was also Luanne on King of the Hill--I watched that for a short period of time a few years ago, but I never knew that was her.
I do know that when people discussed the perfect actress to play Harley Quinn, she was always mentioned. |

You can watch the trailer for the David Tennant and Patrick Stewart version of Hamlet here.
The 9 Nerdiest Nutcrackers For The Holidays.
This next one should probably be avoided if you are avoiding all casting spoilers for Doctor Who, and haven't seen the trailers. For anyone that hasn’t seen it yet, you can see how a certain character in the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special is being held in something straight out of Silence of the Lambs. He just seems so happy about it, too. Oh, and for those avoiding spoilers—don’t read the bit towards the bottom of the Io9 article, since it contains a few vague ones. Nothing really specific, though.
Uploading to Yuletide is now open, and the instructions can be found here. I’ve now uploaded mine, and from what I can tell I was the 109th person to do so. Although, when editing is allowed again (because right now it unscreens the story for everyone, apparently) I need to add something to the author’s notes—and then thank all my beta readers once stories are revealed, when we’re allowed to add that. |

From Cracked: 6 TV Shows That Completely Lost Their Minds.
Bryan Singer is reportedly going to direct another X-Men movie—X-Men: First Class.
The Park Bench details everything they’ll miss about Tennant’s Doctor.
best_enemies has issued a challenge involving the Big Finish Audios. You can see the prompts here.
You can also watch a quick interview with David Tennant here—for those avoiding spoilers, nothing is said, but they do show clips from footage that has already been released while he’s talking.
I managed to get an invite to Archive Of Our Own, so I’m ready for uploading my Yuletide fanfic. Does anyone know if people are allowed to do that early, or does it have to be a certain time frame only?
And this last question is from Mom—she said to ask my friends list if they know of anywhere to find half-socks from a name brand I believe was called Miss Match. They were usually in two colors—heel a dark color, and the rest of the sock something else. She used to buy them from a store called the Hanes Factory Outlet in an Eddyville outlet mall. That outlet mall is basically a ghost town now—formerly 30 or so stores, now just one left. That Hanes store was the only place she could ever find them, since other places had never heard of them. Any ideas? |

Den of Geek has a review of Sherlock Holmes. slashfilm has compiled a list of reviews. And found via 221b_bakerst: you can watch eight clips from the movie through here. After watching the ones with Irene Adler, I see that this version acts quite a bit like Amanda from Highlander.
The 15 Best TV Episodes of 2009. Being Human, Chuck, Doctor Who, and Torchwood make the list. If anyone is avoiding anything on Children of Earth or Waters of Mars, you might want to skip those bits, though.
David Tennant discusses the Daleks and the mythology of Doctor Who.
SFX lists the most outrageous rumors there have been for Doctor Who. Fake casting news, like when Patrick Stewart was supposedly going to be the Doctor.
And, lastly, there’s a new trailer for the first part of The End of Time—I caught a couple new things in it. |

The Doctor (and BBC One) wishes everyone a Merry Christmas, and claims when it’s over, he’ll do it all over again. Also connected to that one—the Doctor discusses Christmas presents. Both are very cute.
Io9 asks who the best new character of the decade is—and Donna Noble makes the rather short list.
From SFX’s countdown to The End of Time, here’s something weird and funny—The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Daleks.
You can watch the latest clip released from The End of Time here.
What’s On TV has an interview with David Tennant, discussing his leaving the show and the theme of the finale—anyone avoiding the slightest hints of spoilers might want to avoid this one for now, though.
Syfy renewed Stargate Universe and Sanctuary.
Holiday Love Meme, Secret Santa Style. My thread is here.
Thanks to Comcast On Demand, I have now watched episodes 3-8 (missed the first two, since they had already been removed by the time I stumbled across it) of season 1 of How I Met Your Mother. I think I like it, although that may be mostly for Alyson Hannigan’s character of Lily. I can't stand Barney. |

We’re getting 50 mph winds here, so I’m posting this in between it knocking out the internet. It’s reportedly going to be finished somewhere around 3 or 4 PM. It's caused the power to flicker here, and the lady that owns the used bookstore says it went out completely at her house, and caused a wreck nearby--at least, judging by the four ambulances and police car she spotted.
A man has built a life-size Dalek. It can be moved via remote control, and cost him about $1149 to make. Let us all hope he doesn’t turn into Davros.
While I don’t watch the show, this is for anyone on my friends list that does. As The World Turns has been cancelled. However, it will last until September of 2010.
You can read an interview of Bradley James and Anthony Stewart Head here.
Top 10 Science Fiction Disappointments of the Past Decade. The only one I really disagree with is Superman Returns. I mostly liked it.
MST3K can now be found on Hulu.
Most Unfairly Overlooked Movies of the Decade. I loved Death at a Funeral (the one with Alan Tudyk, not the remake with Chris Rock) so I agree with that recommendation. It was hysterical.
And lastly, a meme:
If I came with a warning label, what would it say? |
